  • As Cornerstone Investment Management's Director of Investments, Mark manages the firm's equity analysis and macroeconomic analysis, portfolio management, securities trading, performance review and assessment, and firm strategy and management. Mark's philosophy of investing focuses on the big picture: "We like to go the top of the mountain and look around." Mark values investor education and communication by providing easy-to-understand research to clients and written commentary on every client's quarterly statements outlining the account's progress. He also regularly takes research trips within the United States and internationally to observe first-hand economic progress and future market opportunities.

Qualified Experience in Investment Management

  • With 14 years investment management experience, Mark served as Investment Officer for an investment management firm in Savannah, GA and Business Systems Analyst in Columbus, GA prior to co-founding Cornerstone Investment Management with Scott Koser in 2003. While studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams, Mark met Scott, who was also a CFA Candidate. They shared similar views of the investment industry and realized their opportunity to create an independent firm, allowing them to perform their own research and portfolio management.

Education

  • To further his understanding of the investment industry, Davidson began studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst examinations and received his designation in 1999.

  • Dauphin Way United Methodist Church

Personal

  • Mark lives in downtown Mobile, AL with his wife, Lynn Weeks from Savannah, GA, and their three children, Pape, Cam, and Claire. In his free time, Mark enjoys traveling, watching college football, professional baseball, hiking, kayaking, soccer, and other outdoor activities with his family.
